Telehealth, short for "telecommunications health," refers to the use of digital communication technologies to deliver healthcare services remotely. It encompasses a broad range of technologies and services that facilitate virtual interactions between clients and healthcare providers. Telehealth is designed to overcome geographical barriers, improve access to health services, and enhance the efficiency of healthcare delivery.
At Back Be Nimble Wellness Collective, we offer Telehealth appointments for Individual and Couple Counselling Sessions. These virtual/online appointments are available by phone or video chat.
Our Registered Psychologist, Nathalie Mercier uses a secure video calling and client communication platform which affirms compliancy with security and privacy requirements of both provincial and federal legislation. This platform is integrated into the Jane practice management software used at Back Be Nimble Wellness Collective. Details for privacy and security compliances, as required by legislation in Alberta and Canada, are provided on the Jane web site. Your confidentiality is of the highest importance and all data is encrypted, any device/browser information is anonymous, and none of the video related data is stored. Video access is done securely through a web browser on any computer or device with a camera and microphone. Step by step instructions are provided before your first appointment.
There are some differences between in-person and virtual appointments. These are outlined in the Informed Consent for Services, which is provided to you and reviewed with you when you book an appointment.
Nathalie is currently able to provide telehealth psychological services to clients who are physically located in Alberta, New Brunswick, or Québec at the time of their appointment.
If you will be outside of these provinces at the time of your online or telephone appointment, please let Nathalie know as soon as possible and, where possible, before the 24-hour late-cancellation period. Your appointment may need to be rescheduled for a time when you are located in a jurisdiction where Nathalie is authorized to provide services

You will also receive a link via email 30 minutes prior to your appointment time. - For Couple Counselling video appointments, each participant will receive a link to join the appointment. You can choose to join together on one device (by clicking on either link in either email) or separately on different devices. If you are joining in on separate devices, you simply click the link you received in your email on your preferred device.
