Laura spent many years working in adult education and corporate training in the software industry before she was drawn to Massage Therapy. She completed her training in 2007 and hasn’t looked back. Laura has had a well-rounded and exciting Massage Therapy career. She was the Membership and Credentials Manager for the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC) for 4 years and was on the committee that developed their continuing education program. Laura was also an instructor for 8 years at an Edmonton Massage Therapy school; an experience that deepened her own practice in many ways. Over the years, Laura has had the opportunity to provide pre and post event massage for artistic performers, pre-concert events for many well-known artists and volunteered for several years providing chair massage to staff and residents of a local women’s shelter.
Laura specializes in therapeutic and wellness massage, hot stone therapy, manual lymph drainage, and myofascial cupping. She is committed to open communication and developing a lasting therapeutic relationship with clients. Drawing on her deep knowledge of anatomy and orthopaedic assessment, Laura ensures that treatment is aligned with client goals.
In addition to her Massage Therapy training, Laura has a Management Studies diploma from MacEwan University and is a Registered Yoga Teacher. Laura believes strongly in the benefits of human touch and self-care and has also taught yoga and provided chair massage to residents of a 55+ active living residential complex. Laura is registered with the NHPC and serves on their Board of Directors.
Outside of the treatment room, Laura is an avid all-weather runner, has taken up curling and golf, and loves to putter in her yard.
