As a Registered Massage Therapist for the past 23 years, Clare has a passionate interest in helping others and in healing the body. She is committed to treating her clients with skill and compassion to achieve balance and wellness. Clare believes that Massage Therapy is both a technical and intuitive practice, and that educating her clients about their bodies is an integral part of treatment.
After graduating with honours in 2001 from the Massage Therapy program at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Clare completed the competency admissions exam and became a member of the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta (MTAA). The MTAA ensures that all members maintain high standards of practice and continuing education credits. Clare’s clinical experience includes extensive work with motor vehicle accident trauma, repetitive strain injuries, impingement syndromes, chronic pain issues, sports injuries, and pregnancy-related concerns.
Clare’s range of skills and knowledge provide her clients with effective treatments that improve tissue health, restore function and reduce stress. She incorporates trigger point therapy, deep tissue work, myofascial techniques, joint mobilization and active and passive stretching into her treatments and she believes in adapting her treatment approach to each individual’s needs to achieve a state of optimum wellness. In addition to providing general therapeutic care, Clare is certified in prenatal and postpartum massage and finds it very rewarding to work with women during their pregnancy journeys.
In her spare time, Clare enjoys running, weight-lifting, and rock climbing, and is never without a good book.
