Andrea Milne, RMTAndrea graduated from the 2200-hour Massage Therapy Studies Program at Grant MacEwan in 2003 and has been practicing massage therapy in Alberta since. Andrea has been a member in good standing with the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta since 2004 and has experience working with clients of all ages and uses a combination of relaxation and therapeutic massage techniques. Additionally, Andrea has specialized training in sports massage therapy and has experience working with many levels of athletes from varying team and individualized sports including hockey, lacrosse, rugby, track sports, dance and football.
Andrea has experience working with varying conditions including but not limited to multiple sclerosis, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, post surgical hip and knee replacement, migraine/head ache, sciatic nerve impingement, soft tissue injuries, whiplash associated disorder, and diabetes mellitus. Andrea is passionate about helping her clients rehabilitate from injury and achieve their goals but also enjoys providing relaxation massage therapy as well as individually tailored prenatal and postnatal massage therapy. Andrea has previously served in her community as an athletic trainer and first responder for minor hockey, inline hockey and junior hockey for over 7 years. Here she gained experience assessing and treating acute injuries and providing emergency first aid care while working with other health care professionals. Andrea has worked with the Massage Therapy Program and MacEwan University for 3 years assisting with clinical practicum in supervision and instruction of second year massage therapy students as they apply their knowledge and skills in a hospital based environment. Andrea continues to pursue her education to gain further skills to apply in her client centred approach and build on her love of teaching. |
